Method

Every published number should lead back to its source.

Mundx Analytics is a Nigerian election data and technology platform that turns published results into live monitoring, interactive maps, data election records and operational tools for the teams that report, observe, analyse and scrutinise elections.

Source boundary

Our available form source

Where Mundx works from published result forms, the form currently available to us is EC8A. We do not claim access to other result forms.

Only INEC declares. Mundx reports what the source records in its dataset show, with coverage and validation status attached.
Source

Polling-unit record

The published result image and identifying polling-unit context.

Data

Structured record

Extracted values, source metadata, timestamps and replacement history.

View

Traceable output

Results, maps and exports retain a path back to the source record.

Validation

Flags are not the same as exclusions

Readable results can remain in the provisional tally with a reconciliation flag. Exclusion is reserved for unusable documents and defined validity failures.

01

Reconciliation flags

Vote-sum, figures-versus-words and accreditation mismatches stay visible without automatically removing readable party votes.

02

Exclusion checks

Over-voting, voter-ceiling failures and unusable documents are excluded from provisional totals.

03

Source identity

Each result is matched to its state, LGA, ward and polling unit and linked to the published image.

04

Replacement detection

Image fingerprints identify replacement uploads so the new source is re-read instead of counted twice.

05

Legibility

Unreadable or incorrect documents are excluded rather than inferred.

06

Verification

Users can compare a displayed figure with its source record and report a discrepancy.

See the detailed checks on the Method page.

Transparency

Coverage belongs beside the result.

Every result view should state which election year it covers, how many source records are represented, what remains unavailable, and how validation flags affect totals.

Permanent election context

Election Hub pages keep the contest identity, official geography, lifecycle state and source boundary visible together.
